Accreditation Management:
It aims to supervise, plan, and coordinate with other national, regional, and international accreditation bodies in the field of accreditation as a national accreditation body. It involves implementing the requirements of international standards, regulations, legislation, and related accreditation systems and laws, and activating the accreditation system at the national, regional, and international levels according to international accreditation practices and standards.
1. Conformity Assessment Bodies Division:
It aims to register all different conformity assessment bodies in the state of Kuwait, whether in the government or private sectors, and to coordinate the monitoring of their activities to verify accreditation certificates obtained from various accreditation bodies. It also ensures the validity of licenses obtained from various certification granting bodies according to the different accreditation scopes, by applying the requirements of international standards, regulations, legislation, systems, laws, and other relevant accreditation-related requirements .
2. Accreditation Services Department:
It aims to supervise, coordinate, and follow up with relevant accreditation bodies and various conformity assessment bodies regarding accreditation services, whether obtained from accreditation bodies or sought after. It ensures compliance with the requirements of international standards, regulations, legislation, systems, and laws related to accreditation.
Standards and Metrology Department:
It aims to facilitate the commercial exchange of Kuwaiti industry products in the international markets through its role in setting and preparing specifications and standards and supervising their application and observance in production and service sectors as the approved reference for standardization and quality control of production.
1. International Technical Relations Section:
It aims to provide technical and administration services for the General Committee for Standardization work, develop relations and cooperation with regional and international organizations and entities, and various standardization entities, and provide all required services as a national inquiry point to apply the Agreement on Technical Obstacle for trade between the member states of the World Trade Organization.
2. Specifications Section:
It aims to set and issue standard specifications for national and imported industrial commodities and products, industrial production materials and requirements, and coordinate with specialized technical agencies and committees.
3. Quality Development Section:
It aims to ensure the commitment of industrial and craft establishments to the approved quality standards and to encourage and qualify these establishments to obtain quality marks and certificates of conformity to achieve a distinguished competitive position in local and foreign markets.
Quality Laboratories Department:
It aims to examine and analyze industrial products and supplies in accordance with the standard specifications of these materials, to ensure the quality of the specifications and standards that must be available in industrial products and supplies, in a way that achieves their validity, efficient operation, and safe use.
1. Textile Laboratory Section:
It aims to examine, analyze locally produced and imported fabrics, textiles, and yarn products, ensure their safety and compliance with Kuwaiti standard specifications.
2. Dyes Laboratory Section:
It aims to examine and analyze construction, industrial and marine dye products produced locally and imported, and to ensure their safety and compliance with Kuwaiti standard specifications.
3. Building Materials Laboratory Section:
It aims to examine, analyze locally produced and imported building materials, ensure their safety and compliance with Kuwaiti standard specifications.
4. Electricity Laboratory Section:
It aims to examine electrical and electronic devices, equipment produced locally and imported, ensure their safety and compliance with Kuwaiti standard specifications.
5. Chemistry Laboratory Section:
It aims to conduct chemical tests and analyzes of locally produced and imported products, raw materials, ensuring their safety and conformity with Kuwaiti standard specifications.
6. Measurement and Calibration Laboratory Section
It aims to carry out all matters relating to weights, balances, measures of control, examination, calibration, and customs release, in accordance with the laws and regulations enforced in this regard.
Industrial Safety and Environmental Control Department:
It aims to maintain the conditions and standards of industrial security and professional safety in industrial and craft facilities, protect the environment in all industrial areas according to the standards and conditions set.
1. Industrial Safety Section:
It aims to ensure the preservation of lives, property, assets, funds and stores of PAI through the arrangements and measures that are adopted in this regard, as well as through the proper application of all industrial safety and security laws and systems.
2. Emergency and Safety Operations Center:
It aims to apply the necessary programs to secure and protect PAI’s property and its employees, implement evacuation and emergency plans, in coordination with the concerned authorities.
3. Entry permits to Shuaiba Industrial Area:
It aims to issue entry permits for individuals, equipment, and vehicles to the Shuaiba Industrial Area.
4. Environmental Control Section:
It aims to provide an appropriate industrial environment and protect the environment from any damage caused by industrial activity in the country, through the proper application of environmental protection standards and requirements adopted in this regard.
5. Industrial Inspection Department:
It aims to ensure commitment of industrial and craft establishments to all safety requirements recognized by regulations and systems.
6. Industrial inspection centers:
The centers aim to carry out periodic and unannounced inspections of industrial and vocational establishments, service, commercial, craft, and vocational plots to ensure compliance with all required legal procedures.
Technical Services Department:
It aims to maintain facilities, buildings, roads, properties and industrial zones that belong to PAI , to be in valid condition and capable of effective use, while conducting technical studies and maintaining mechanical and electrical installations to ensure their efficient operation.
1. Civil Maintenance Section:
It aims to provide all civil maintenance services for PAI’s facilities, buildings, and industrial areas, to ensure efficient use and secure services.
2. Electrical Maintenance Section:
It aims to provide all electrical maintenance services required for the proper operation of all electrical devices and equipment of PAI and industrial areas.
3. Mechanical Maintenance Section:
It aims to provide all mechanical maintenance services required for equipment, mechanical equipment, fire networks of PAI and the industrial zones, in a way that guarantees operation efficiency and regularity of its services.
4. Coordination and Operation Follow-up Section:
It aims to plan the work programs of the maintenance departments, follow up the implementation of operating orders issued to them, and provide their needs for materials, supplies, and tools necessary for their work.
5. Industrial Waste Treatment Section:
It aims to ensure regular and efficient operation of the industrial waste treatment station and to coordinate with industrial companies in this regard.
Cooling Water Management Department:
It aims to provide the cooling water needs for various industries and ensure its provision through the effective operation and maintenance of water pumping stations.
1. Station Operation Section:
It aims to secure the cooling water needs for existing industries in industrial areas within the efficiency of the operating programs for these stations.
2. Mechanical Maintenance of Cooling Water Stations Section:
It aims to provide all mechanical maintenance services required for the regular and effective operation of equipment, supplies, pumps, and mechanical projects of these stations.
3. Electrical Maintenance for Cooling Water Stations Section:
It aims to provide all electrical maintenance services required for regular and effective operation of the devices, generators, transformers, motors, and electrical equipment of these stations.
